Day 1 & 2

Guests will be met by our guides at the Windhoek International Airport. We will start our journey via the towns of Okahandja, Omaruru, and Uis to Twyfelfontein in Damaraland. Arriving late afternoon at our camp. Today we will be filled with changing scenery and wildlife. We will be passing the highest mountain in Namibia in Damaraland called the Brandberg. On the way we might see the rare Desert Elephant, Day 2 after breakfast, we will visit the rock engravings done by the San / Bushman people (Twyfelfontein is a world heritage site) we will also visit the petrified forest. Lunch will be served under an old Acacia Tree in a riverbed. Dinner and overnight at our camp.

Day 3

After breakfast we will head for Sesfontein in the Kunene Region. We will take a route of the beaten track to look the desert Elephant. Lunch will be at Palmwag where rugged Namibia start. Arriving at Sesfontein late afternoon. Today will be filled with Scenery, wildlife and culture. Guides will prepare dinner on the open fire. Overnight in Sesfontein. Here you will see the traditional Himba. Wildlife that we will see is Giraffe, Mountain Zebra, Kudu, Elephant and the occasional Rhino.

Day 4

After breakfast we will head north through spectacular scenery passing massive Baobab trees to Opuwa, the administrative town for the Kunene Region. On the way you will see Himba villages and wildlife. Dinner and overnight at our camp in Opuwa. Guests are welcome to explore the town on foot or take a swim in the pool at the camp. Guides will prepare dinner on the open fire.

Day 5

Today we will drive north to Epupa Waterfalls on the border of Namibia and Angola, arriving at lunch time. Guests will have the opportunity to explore the falls. There are various look out points for spectacular sun sets. We will set up camp under massive Makalani Palm Trees on the banks of the Kunene river. Dinner will be prepared by the guides and guests are welcome to sit around the fire and listen to the sound of the night and look at the stars.

Day 6

After breakfast we will drive east along the Kunene river to Hippo Pools our next camp near Ruacana. Driving will be slow due to the sandy terrain. Guests can explore the Kunene River or just relax. You might see your first crocodile. We can also visit the Ruacana Falls. The Falls provide fresh water to the northern part of Namibia and the southern part of Angola. It is a valuable source of hydro-electric power and one of the main attractions of Namibia - about 120m deep and 700m wide. Guides will prepare dinner.

Day 7

After breakfast we will cross the border between Namibia and Angola. Be prepared, this procedure can take up to 3 hours. We will drive north through a small town Chitadu, due to the road conditions, driving will be very slow. On our way we will pass abandoned military vehicles that were destroyed in the war. We will set up camp in the bush for the first night near Ochinjau. Guides will prepare dinner and guest can sit around the fire. We will have mobile showers and guests are welcome to take a quick shower. (Hot water will be available for hot showers).

Day 8

After breakfast we will continue very slowly towards Cahama, another small town. Today will be scenery and we will meet some of the local population on our way. We will set up camp in the bush again, guides will prepare dinner.

Day 9

After breakfast we will head for the city of Lubango & the marvel of the breathtaking Leba pass that winds its way up the Mountain to the height of 1845 meters above sea level. Lubango is set in a lush tropical valley guarded by the statue of Christ build high above on cliffs overlooking the city. The statue is the only one of 3 in the world and is a replica of the one found in Rio de Janeiro. Lubango is a city with rich Portuguese heritage an a mix of Africa. Dinner and overnight.

Day 10

After breakfast we will visit the Tunda Vala escarpment. This volcanic fissure climbs to 2600m (8528ft) above sea level and offers a breathtaking view over rolling hills and well above the clouds!. We will leave for Feradu driving through the town of Namibe. Feradu is on the coast and we will set up camp on a private beach. Guests are welcome to take a swim in the ocean before dinner and overnight.

Day 11

After breakfast guest can explore the town of Namibe with its open fish markets. Fishing on this coastline is legendary. Scenery will be desert. Therefore we will leave for Tomwa a small town on the coast, with the main industry as fishing. Tonight we will overnight in self catering accommodation.

Day 12 & 13

After breakfast we will explore the surrounding area with sand dunes, rock formations and lakes. Today will be the start of our desert adventure with a 230km beach and desert sand driving. Beach driving is a unique experience and not permitted in many countries and makes this journey very exciting. This drive can only be done at spring tide as the coast is bordered by high dunes which fall precipitously into the sea. Join us in our excitement as we squeeze the between the ocean and the enormous sand dunes. (Not to worry our guides are specially trained on all terrain driving and are experts in what they do.) We will set up camp more or less in the middle of the route. Behind the dunes are a number of green oases and near the south end of Baia dos Tigres are vast lagoons of fish, birds such as Pelicans, Flamingos and wildlife such as Oryx. In the two days we will pass two shipwrecks, fossil plants called the Welwitschia Mirabilis (the only other place you will find them is in the north western parts of Namibia - it can be 1000 years old) We will arrive at Foz do Cunene in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight - tonight your guides will prepare fresh fish from the ocean over the open fire.

Day 14 & 15

Today we will leave the sandy part of our journey away from the coast line to more rocky landscapes. We will drive through the Parque National du lona - the scenery is similar to the Kunene region in Namibia and spectacular to travel through. We will come across many Himba villages. The Himbas still dress and live according to their ancient traditions. The tribes are nomadic and in this part of the world not use to foreign faces. We will visit some of their villages and you will be able to observe there way of living and learn more about their culture. We will set up camp in the wild again - guides will prepare dinner. Day 15, After breakfast we will continue our journey along the southern part of Angola driving east to Ruacana. Today will be scenery and wildlife such as Oryx and Springbok. We will drive through little towns such as Espenheira and Ljona. We will overnight near the boarder to cross over to Namibia early in the morning.

Day 16

Today we will do the border crossing between Angola and Namibia, it will take us more or less 3 hours after which we will drive east to Oshakati (Owamboland) the administrative centre for the Oshona Region. This is the area were 50% of the Namibian population live and is home to the Owambo people. Here you will find modern shopping centres, banks and hotels. The African character is preserved by the numerous stands and road-side kitchens lining the streets and the markets were you can find anything that the heart may desire - from colourful clothing to fresh meat hanging from the tree butcheries. Dinner and overnight.

Day 17

After breakfast we will head break up camp and drive south to the Etosha National Park and our first camp for overnight - Namutoni. Entering the park at the northern entrance. Lunch will be en-route. We can expect to see lion, Elephant, Zebra, Oryx and Springbok to name a few. We will visit various water holes in the park were wildlife come to drink. While the guides prepare dinner, guests are welcome to visit the waterhole.

Day 18

A whole day of game driving in the park - Lunch will be en-route. Overnight at Okakeujo Camp. Dinner to be prepared on the open fire by your guides.

Day 19

After breakfast we will head for Windhoek passing through Okahandja where we will stop at the local woodcarvers market were guest can buy hard carved items. Afterwards we will drop you at the Windhoek International Airport in time for your departure.
